Zhijindong Cave is located in the southeast of Guanzhai township which is about 23km away from northeast of Zhijin County. It is situated inside the karst hills on south bank of Liuchonghe River in upstream of Wujiang River and on slope top of southeast river valley in downstream of Qijiehe River. It has been developing in the strong karst aquifer composed of thick limestone of Huangchunba member of Yelang Formation in Lower Triassic Series and lying in the NWW limbs of Xiahongyan brachyanticline and the SE limbs of Diaobian syncline.
